212816 Library Acquisitions/Serials Librarian

(1 Part Time Position)

Pay Range – Salary

Pay commensurate with education and experience

Under the direction of Head, Tech Services/Systems Librarian, the incumbent is responsible for the management of the Acquisitions and Serials Units. Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from an American Library Association accredited program required. Three years direct experience in a library acquisitions department with management responsibility are necessary. Must demonstrate familiarity with MARC format, OCLC, and knowledge of the book trade. Background in business or accounting helpful but not required. Experience with Voyager Acquisitions module highly desirable. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 7/20/08

212817 Library Head Tech Services System Librarian

(1 Part Time Position)

Under the direction of Head of Information Resources/Exhibit Projects, the incumbent manages the Technical Services staff, evaluates, monitors and plans the work flow for Acquisitions, Cataloging and materials repair functions of the Research and Children’s Libraries. Maintains and coordinates information systems for the Library and Archives, including web presence. Oversees the department budget. ALA accredited Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science required. Experience working with integrated library systems is essential. Two to three years Technical Services management experience. Knowledge of USMARC formats, bibliographic control and familiarity with library acquisitions. Familiarity with Voyager a plus. Excellent communication skills required, both written and oral, especially the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical users. 7/20/08

Pay commensurate with education and experience Under the supervision of the Surveillance Specialist, the incumbent installs, removes, maintains, services,and repairs surveillance and security closed-circuit television equipment. High School diploma or general education (GED) required. Technical training, state license or equivalent required. A minimum of two (2) years in repairs and trouble shooting of electronic equipment, computers, test equipment and CCTV related equipment. 7/20/08

212819 Visitors Services Visitor Services Representative

(1 Part Time Position)

Pay commensurate with education and experience

Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Visitor Services, the incumbent is to facilitate the processing that is required for Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center visitors ( i.e. ticket sales, switchboard, information desk, control of traffic flow & parking at museum site). The incumbent must project a positive experience of the Museum visitors in person and by phone. High School diploma or general education degree (GED). Minimum one year direct visitor services experience in an attraction, retail or travel/leisure sector. Computer knowledgeable preferably, on a Ticketing Reservation System. Previous experience handling large sum of money with accuracy. Must be a people-person who enjoys assisting the public. Must be an enthusiastic team-builder & possess a positive attitude. Must be willing to accept additional responsibilities as the divisions grows. This position requires flexibility in the work schedule which includes holidays, weekends, and irregular days off. Must possess a willingness to cross-train on all Visitor Services positions. Will require weekends & holidays & a willingness to leave early if not needed. Some evening work will be required for special events. One year previous experience working with computers, preferable on a ticket reservation system required. Must be detail-oriented. 7/20/08

Under the supervision of the Director of the Department of Interior, the incumbent must keep assigned areas clean using cleaning supplies and heavy equipment. Grade school education is required. High School Diploma or GED w/some prior work exp in the area of facility maintenance is preferred. Reliable, responsible, on-time, & capable of providing assistance to others in a work environment required. Must be available & dependable for flexible scheduling of work hours. Frequently required to lift up 150 lbs & occasionally may be required to assist in lifting & moving items up to and including 450 lbs. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license if assigned. Roads & Grounds CDL Driver/Laborer

(2 Full Time Positions)

Pay commensurate with education and experience

Under the direction of the Director of Public Works, the incumbent performs skilled and semi-skilled tasks related to the maintenance of all Tribal-owned roadways, grounds, equipment and facilities requiring the operation of several types of vehicles and general labor work. Completion of eighth grade and two years of labor and maintenance experience. Must be able to safely operate dump trucks, street sweepers and all equipment over 26,000 pounds of gross vehicle weight. Must be able to safely use tools such as chain saws, snow blowers, wood chippers, etc. Must hold a valid driver’s license. A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required since the gross weight of the vehicles operated are over 26,000 pounds and may be used to transport hazardous materials. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Mandatory 24 hour on-call snow removal duty from November 1 to April 1. The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles such as dust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee is also required to work along roadways and around power lines, and gas, water, and sewer mains. 7/20/08
