POW WOW 2009

The 17th Annual Pow Wow (Pauwau) will be held November 7 and 8, 2009 at the Tribal Grounds at 591 Bluewater Road in Aynor, SC.

School Day

Our School Day event is scheduled for Thursday, November 5, 2009 and Friday, November 6, 2009.  For information about this event, please contact 2nd Chief Susan Hayes-Hatcher, at (843) 229-6751 or you can email her at afretsusan@gmail.com.

Family Day

Information on the next family day will be announced soon.  This is under discussion, and may be held during March 2009.

Special Events

  • TRIBAL MEETINGS are held at 6:30 pm on the first Friday of each month with the following exceptions:

  • Due to the annual pauwau, there is no meeting in November.  Additionally, The meetings for the months of January and July are held on the second Friday rather than the first Friday.
  • FIRE CEREMONY    This is in progress, and probably will be held during the Equinox in March 2009.  We will keep you informed.

  • TRIBAL GATHERING:  A “The Spirit of the Waccamaw” gathering, will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2009.  Tribal Member, Paul Evans, is going to cook chicken bog, hamburgers and hot dogs.  This gathering is in the planning stages, so if you would like additional information please contact Events Coordinator, Linda Atkinson at 843-365-8539 or email her at wacchesiox@aol.com.
